Virgin Virgo cruise trip

At the end of last August, I took a 3-day short holiday to experience my virgin cruise trip. I went down to the tour agency and decided to go with Star Cruises.

Get ready for a picture overloaded post :)

This was the card I received upon 'check in' at the habourfront cruise terminal counter before we board the cruise. Not only was the card our room keys, it also acts like a 'credit card' where all your purchases on board will be keyed into this card and you pay for them at the end of the whole trip before you leave the ship.

Finally got to board the ship, I'm was so excited !!

The room where I will be sleeping in for the next 2 nights.

This was the view from my room's balcony before the ship set sail. We got on board around 5pm and the ship only started setting off around 8pm.

And that's my room~. Quite small but big enough for 2 persons and it felt really cozy.

And there was a full-length mirror outside the toilet which was really good for people who like to cam-whore like me :P

Took a walk around the ship and saw these beautiful city landscape. It was windy and the sea air smelled happy, everything felt great when you are on a holiday. From the top to bottom, we have the Resorts World, Keppel Bay and Vivocity.

There were also other interesting places inside the ship like this mahjong room.

And a small library.

The lobby had this huge sculpture of three golden horses with a live band playing in front to welcome the guests. Made the whole place seems really grand despite the fact that I was not the only one who was wearing t-shirt and shorts finished with flip flops.

The Parthenon Pool with 4 round jacuzzi at the four corners of the pool. The long and cursive dark blue slide is a must try. I tried it for like almost 10 times cause it was so fun and I felt really relaxed while I was 'travelling' on it.

And of course a kids pool for the little ones. Though it looked fun but I didn't go there cause I was scared of receiving judging glares from the other adults. Lol.

A mini golf course which I haven't seen anyone playing it throughout my 3 days on board.

The ship that we board was the Superstar Virgo, which I heard from my friend that it is the largest ship among all the other ships of Star Cruises. I remembered my hat almost flew off my head when I took this picture and that's why I had to include it in this post. Lol.

Seriously, of all the places in the ship, the arcade was my most favourite. I think I spent a bomb on the Time Crisis 2 machine.

Walking down the stairs, I just realised that they have a different mural for every storey. That's quite cool.

The sky turned dark and the ship finally set off. Those are lights from other vessels parking near the habour.

Love all these stained glass/tiles I saw near the lobby.

I don't know what this is but looks like hopscotch to me. Hopscotch in a triangular form.

If it wasn't for my hair and the hat, I would have looked headless right?

At the lido theatre waiting for the show to start.

Love the motifs on the red velvet seats.

The actors waiting on stage for photography session after the show. No offence, but the one in the middle looks like Singapore actor Gurmit Singh. Haha.

Chillaxing at the balcony the next morning. Too bad I don't do beer or it would have made the situation more perfect.

Had brunch at this place and when I saw the sunlight streaming through the magnificent full length windows, the opening scene of the Titanic movie started playing at the back of my head.

I wanted to take a picture of the beautiful painting and head sculptures of the place and incidentally caught the act of an old woman taking a picture of her companion, which was actually kind of cute.

They even have built-in seats at the bay windows around the ship for people to chill and relax and ponder about life. Lol.

I'm glad that I decided to head back to my room after brunch to wait for the smaller motor boats to take us to Redang Island, or not I would have missed this scenic view.

These are the smaller motor boats that I was talking about that takes us to Redang Island.

Finally reached the island.

The beach was a bit crowded but nevertheless, the view was awesome. The sea water was blue and clear, and best of all, it was warm. My greatest regret was not bringing along my swim suit so that I can soak my whole body in that cozy warm sea water.

Yes yes yes, I wore the wrong top. Lol

Capturing my shadow and at the same time you can see just how clear the water is.

Spotted the mother boat parked a distance away.

Walking around the island and spotted this small pool that belonged to a villa there. But of course no one was using it since the beach and sea was so much more fun. Maybe people use it at night instead.

Redang Island is also the place where the movie '夏日的么么茶', a.k.a 'Summer Holiday', played by actor/singer Richie Ren and Sammi Cheng, was filmed at. And I spotted the inn where they filmed at.

After all that sunshine fun, it's time to head back to the Virgo cruise. A little saddening but I tried to carry on the fun by continuing my water activities at the ship's pool

Had my dinner at a Japanese restaurant and their sashimi was really awesome. It tasted as if they fished it out of the sea directly when we ordered and serve it to us straight away. The second dish is beef striploin roll with cheese and coated with bread crumbs. It looked really delicious but actually it taste pretty average. Still, it had to be the best meal out of all the other meals I had on board because the sashimi was just too good.

Breakfast for the last day was at the Chinese-themed restaurant. And the food was of course Chinese food like congee, lotus rice, siew mai, etc.

A few hours after breakfast, we arrived back at Singapore. Yup, that's me acting emo in the picture. Lol.

I really enjoyed myself during the whole trip and made a mental note to myself that the next time I decide to go for a cruise again, I will book one that is about a week long rather than a short 3 days.
